WAR ZONE (OVERVIEW)

Ilha de Guerra is a small island located in the North Atlantic, right in the middle of the coasts of America and Africa, discovered by the Portuguese explorer Aloisio de Guerra in 1495. Signed by a bloody past full of stories of corruption, death and madness, it has earned its nickname "WAR ZONE" that has accompanied it since the time of the conquest. Its main industry is shark fishing, an animal that shapes its national flag and coat of arms.

Its geographical location makes the inhabitants of this island a mixture of different ethnic groups formed by descendants of war refugees from different countries of America, Asia and Europe, as well as pirates that hit the African coasts. Native culture almost extinct is only part of folklore.

War Zone is secretly dominated by a terrible criminal organization called The Eye, which controls from the shadows the politics, the economy and the vast criminal empire that has the island besieged and whose mysteries are revealed as we progress through the story; only the heads of the different groups know their existence. In addition, its leader is tragically linked to one of our characters.

The Eye is represented by different fronts that dominate all manifestations of vice and corruption.

1-Many and the Hispanic Cartel: Charismatic leader with a childish rivalry with the island's avenger. He controls drugs smuggling and the docks that he shares with the Yakuza and the smugglers. He keeps the strict codes dictated by The Eye, but always has an ace up his sleeve; he is sly and appealing, enjoy and have fun with what he does.

2- Katsu Yoshida and the Yakuza Clan: High ranking member of the Yakuza organization that agreed with The Eye to operate within the island. They dominate the internal distribution of drugs operating hand in hand with the Hispano cartel, its main supplier. Katsu is a formidable master of martial arts who considers himself the best in the world. But he drags a bitter defeat at the hands of his staunch rival.

3- Aster and the Euro Mafia: A beautiful and apparently fragile woman who is actually a lethal weapon, versed in almost all existing martial arts, has a cruelty like no other that led her to unify the Russian and Italian mafias under her command. She directs weapons sales and has the greatest fire power among the mafias, which makes her the regent of the entire criminal operation that works as a clockwork mechanism. She is the only person who can boast of having defeated Katsu in singular combat.

4-Gennaro Grosso: Master and lord of the prostitution market, he is the only provider of such services; his women work by their own will, are loyal to him and are willing to protect him if necessary. He cares and protects them and absolutely refuses to abuse and human trafficking.

With a twisted moral code against child pornography and rape, he has earned the respect of all his "colleagues". He is, of all the members of the different mafias, the one who has more links with politics and top officials, which has allowed him to act outside the control of the Euro mafia. His dwarfism was not obstacle to become the king of the brothels on the island. As a professional hunter, he has legally and illegally captured every animal on earth and now his prey is human being.

5-Rothstein: Somber character that controls and oversees the entire commercial operation of the War Zone. It is related to each and every member of the organization, manages the accounts of The Eye and is untouchable by criminals and authorities. Ruthless and perverted pedophile, beneath his cowardly and pathetic appearance hides a despicable human being.

6-The Smugglers: Group of small criminals who handle the smuggling of illegal goods on the island, in addition to sex trafficking not approved by Grosso, pedophilia, human trafficking, slavery, etc. They are the reason why the dwarf women ask him for protection and refuge. They do not have a leader to guide them and work as a unit directed by a "council".

Beyond the mafias there are other characters that also besiege the island.

Deumus: Victim of Soviet experiments during the Cold War that gave him superhuman strength, endurance and great capacity for regeneration. While he was wandering through Europe seeking to supply his vital need to consume human flesh and blood, accidentally came to War Zone and unleashed a surge of cruel murders.

Olya Vasiliev: Russian scientist who took part in the project "Horus" during the Cold War, where the experiment called Deumus was created. She has been hidden in the War Island since then, but needs to come out of the shadows with the arrival of the monstrosity. Olya is a person full of critical information on espionage, war secrets, and nuclear projects; she is extremely dangerous and will play a crucial role to combat The Eye.

Charlotte: Grosso's girlfriend and his personal bodyguard, this former wrestling champion of 6 ft and 264 lb of muscle, of Swedish origin was part of the prostitution network until he saw her destructive potential and recruited her as his bodyguard. Over time they fell madly in love and now they are inseparable, an exalted warrior willing to give her life for her beloved.

Kemp Brothers: Albanian bounty hunters twins who suffer from albinism; they lost their family at the hands of the mafias of their country and dedicated themselves to prepare to catch the heads of those groups. They caught everybody and handed them over to the authorities, thus earning the money offered by their heads.

From then on they made this their profession. They arrived at War Zone brought by the police chief.

In contrast to the criminal empire there are those who fight it from the underground.

The Missionary: He is a former command of North American special force, priest and subsequent avenger into his own hand. The name of "The Missionary" is forged dedicated to ending the underworld in the War Zone. His search leads him to track down those truly responsible of evil in the island, the international criminals of The Eye. The terrible tragic cycle of this hero closes when he faces the maximum leader of the criminal organization that is none other than his father.

Due to the intense traumas suffered, The Missionary has a disturbed mind, full of visions and ghosts that torment him. He is a prisoner of a moral duality that goes from the compassionate and fair to the cruel and sadistic.

The blonde girl: A recurring vision that accompanies The Missionary. She is one of the victims of the mafia that appears in moments of extreme need to guide him. It is never clear to us if she is really a ghost or the product of some schizophrenic disorder.

Santiago: Old war veteran, owner of an old armory that was saved from a robbery by The Missionary; he has a jovial and kind character; in multiple occasions he provides him with weapons and artifacts to fight crime. They are great friends and have a very fraternal relationship.

Roldán Ontiveros: Police detective who is close to his retirement; with a strong and tough character he is one of the main allies of The Missionary.  He is fascinated with his fight against crime and his legend, so he supports him unconditionally

Sabrina: A black young nurse, who was addicted to drugs for a long time and lived in the streets; her encounter with The Missionary made her move away from that meaningless life and dedicate to her career. She is deeply in love with The Avenger, but she does not dare to tell him. She always provides him refuge and medical care.

Commander Justice: A delirious character that embodies all the clichés of classic superheroes. He is a quixotic and poor imitation of The Missionary in his task of justice. He confronts the mafia and ends sadly murdered.

These are the main characters that, with their stories and following the thematic thread of The Missionary will give life to the apocalyptic WAR ZONE.
